Heaven on Earth
About 10 years ago, a handful of small-time roasters set out to revolutionise Pretoria’s coffee industry. Thanks to their inspired efforts, the city fell in love with the flavourful, fragrant beverage and has enjoyed a booming coffee culture ever since.
Francois Dreyer joined the movement when he bought his own roaster and set up the Heavenly Coffees factory in Centurion after receiving his first order for 300 bags of coffee, which he originally started brewing at home as a passion project.
And to Francois and his wife, coffee has remained just that – a passion. They have coffee flowing through their veins. This love for coffee has inspired them to find ways to supply and deliver high quality coffee, fresh coffee to as many people as possible. Heavenly Coffees now roasts imported coffees from a renowned importer to ensure the highest quality, freshest products at all times.
South Africa’s “third wave”
Heavenly Coffee is part of a new generation of coffee roasters that can be identified as South Africa’s own “third wave” movement. This term refers to the phenomenon, where roasters focus on producing high-quality coffee, and consider coffee as an artisanal foodstuff, like wine, rather than a commodity. This involves improvements at all stages of production, from improving coffee plant growing, harvesting, and processing, to stronger relationships between coffee growers, traders, and roasters, to higher quality and micro-roasting.
Heavenly Coffees creates and crafts blends to caress and delight the mouth and nose, taking you on a tasting journey across the world.
And here’s why coffee can be good for your health!
